Couple Checkup

The Couple Checkup is designed to help you and your partner build a more satisfying and intimate relationship. Just answering the questions will stimulate thoughts and attitudes about your relationship. It is designed to activate dialogue, discovery, and increase the overall quality of your relationship.

It will help you discover your strengths as a couple. Strengths are what enable you to enjoy, and to continue developing a healthy relationship. It will also help you identify issues that are threatening the vitality of your relationship and may need to be addressed.

Our mission is to serve the poor and needy of Iberia Parish with immediate assistance for critical and basic human needs. We treat them with respect, dignity, and cheerfulness; counseling them on personal and financial issues; encouraging them; and praying with them. Most of our clients are elderly or disabled. Over 90 of our clients are homeless or transient. More than 1000 of the households we serve have children.

The Disch-Declouet Social Service Center (Social Service Center, Inc.) continues to serve with outstanding support from the community. About 60% of our funding comes directly from individual donors. We also receive funding from Churches, Iberia Parish, City of New Iberia, the United Way, Help the Helpers and other sources. Most of the more than 60 tons of food we give each year is received from Second Harvest Bank, FoodNet and other food drives at schools and businesses, and individual donations. We also give over 1000 bags of clothing a year. Our staff consists of 35 dedicated volunteers.

Through the years we have received bequests, which have helped us tremendously in our ministry. These benefactors are listed in our memorial book and we continue to pray for them.

Monthly, Quarterly or Annual Donations
Our Utility Assistance and ministries provides about $900 a day to keep utilities turned on. We could not do this without ongoing regular support. See information below on making a donation.
