Couple Checkup

The Couple Checkup is designed to help you and your partner build a more satisfying and intimate relationship. Just answering the questions will stimulate thoughts and attitudes about your relationship. It is designed to activate dialogue, discovery, and increase the overall quality of your relationship.

It will help you discover your strengths as a couple. Strengths are what enable you to enjoy, and to continue developing a healthy relationship. It will also help you identify issues that are threatening the vitality of your relationship and may need to be addressed.

"I was hungry and you fed me;
Thirsty and you gave me drink;
I was a stranger and you welcomed me;
Naked and you clothed me;
Ill and you cared for me;
In prison and you visited me."

The Disch-DeClouet Social Service Center, a non-profit organization, serves the poor and needy of Iberia Parish with immediate assistance for critical and basic human needs. The assistance is provided without a waiting period and without charge. Our mission includes treating all clients with dignity, respect, and cheerfulness; counseling them on personal and financial issues; encouraging them in their illnesses, grief, and other troubles; and praying with them.

The Social Service Center has no paid staff and is run by approximately 35 dedicated, permanent volunteers. We also have temporary volunteers, such as seminarians, who work at the center to get some small idea of the scope of poverty and the problems of the poor in Iberia Parish and how the Social Service Center addresses this.

We are funded primarily through individual donations. We also get some funding from Churches in New Iberia, the United Way, the parish and the city.
