Fellowship Friday Bingo

The St. Peter Fellowship Friday Bingo nights will resume this coming Easter Season. These Friday nights are wonderful opportunities for our parishioners to gather for fun, community and relaxation. Since the time that these Bingo nights have been initiated, the parishioners who attend have enjoyed a simple yet joyful time together. The prizes offered for the Bingo games come from donations by our parishioners. Fr. Blanda has recently donated a few items that will be used in our upcoming games.

The parish is very grateful to Mrs. Kitty Metz who initiated this parish activity. We thank Kitty and all the many volunteers of our parish who provide community building opportunities.

Counseling and Counseling Referrals Office of Marriage and Family Life Diocese of Lafayette

Couples, families, and individuals in crisis can contact the Office of Marriage and Family Life (261-5653) to inquire about counseling offered through our office or for referrals to Counselors who have agreed to work with our office.

The Office of Marriage and Family Life's counseling policy is to refer out those who have insurance and to only see those who do not. Those who we do see may donate whatever amount they can to the support of our office. We also refer to Outpatient Facilities, Drug Rehabilitation Programs, and Family and Parenting Programs.

Abortion Alternatives and Abortion Recovery Programs

In the past few weeks so many people have had the opportunity to see the phenomenal movie “Unplanned.” This movie has stirred an awakening as to the horror of what abortion causes. The Church in her ministry of mercy has within our own community and Diocese so much to offer to those who are considering abortion and those who have at one point in their life chosen abortion.

We are very proud of the work of the Unexpected Pregnancy Center located here in New Iberia. Continue to spread the word as to the good work that is accomplished by that dedicated team of individuals who accompany confused and scared women in times of their unexpected pregnancies. Also, if you are aware of women who have had an abortion, please let them know of Project Rachel which is a wonder ministry here in the Diocese of Lafayette.

Project Rachel – A post abortion healing and reconciliation program for those suffering the negative effects of an abortion experience. The individual sessions are held weekly where they receive the healing grace of God through a nine-step healing program. Contact: Trista @ 337.261.5598.

Flocknote Instructions:

We are aware that not everyone was able to sign up for Flocknote a few weeks ago, so we are including step by step instructions to help you receive messages about important parish information. For those of you who do not know what Flocknote is, it is a messaging system that allows the coordinator of each parish ministry to send out important notes and reminders to those involved in that particular ministry. For example, Adoration Adorers will be reminded about First Friday Adoration a few days prior to the Thursday it begins. Fr. Blanda and Fr. Albert will be able to send out messages about special Masses, cancellations, and overall important information about things going on in the parish.

If you receive either text messages or E-mails, you can sign up for Flocknote. Flocknote is free as long as you are paying for text messages. If your plan only allows a certain amount of messages, then you may be charged if you go over your message allowance that month. Flocknotes are not sent out often, so charges should not be an issue.

If you have any questions about Flocknote, please contact the Parish Office at 369-3816.

1. Go to your text messages and create a new message and type stpeters (all lowercase and one word as shown) as the message, and send the text to 84576.

2. You will receive a text message with an Internet link similar to this:

3. Click the link and create a profile with your first name and last name.

4. Choose the ministries that YOU are involved in. Please do not choose a ministry that you or your child (if applicable) are not directly involved in! Approval has to be given for each ministry, and if you are not part of that ministry, you will not be allowed in that group. If you are not involved in any ministries but would like to receive general messages from Fr. Blanda, Fr. Albert, and staff, then you will be able to receive those just by signing up.

5. Click NEXT and you are done!
