Altar Society
The Altar Society isn't just made up of women anymore. Men are more than
welcome to become involved in this ministry. The Altar Society oversees the
interior decor of the church including flowers, seasonal decor, altar
linens, and banners, Mass setup, setup for baptisms and funerals. Other
responsibilities include upkeep of liturgical linens, cleaning of the
interior of the church, foyer, sacristy, and
altar.

Group #6 of St. Peter's Altar Society is in need of help. The next
scheduled date for Group #6 to clean the Church is March 20, 2010.

The Sacristan
The Sacristan is needed before and after Mass. Their responsibility is to
prepare the sanctuary, credence table and sacristy for a given liturgy. The
Sacristan insures that the altar and any liturgical objects and books are ready
before Mass begins. The Sacristan is also a Eucharistic Minister and, as such,
cleans the sacred vessels following Mass. After the Mass, the Sacristan returns
liturgical objects to the proper place.
